If I hear one more vegan/vegetarian mention Campbell's "China Study" as proof of anything - I will puke! This book is simply his biased vegan opinion about a whole bunch of correlations and that's all. The China Study actually proves nothing because as any scientist will tell you: Correlation is not Causation! Example: I once heard a study that said people who eat 2 or more hamburgers per week suffer more heart disease and therefore meat is bad for you. But if you use some logic and have half a brain you would ask why they didn't blame the bun for the CVD. Maybe it was the ketchup? Maybe the fries, fried in vegetable oil? Who knows. All I know is they blame everything on meat.

Luckily, there are REAL scientist who have gone through the China Study data and debunked Campbell's conclusion. He is massively over-biased towards the vegan diet, ignoring anything in the study that contradicts his view (which is about 90% of it).

Believe it or not the data (AND THERES A LOT) behind the China study actually suggest that WHEAT and not MEAT is responsible for heart disease, cancer and shorter life span. If you don't believe me go to the two links below to articles written by Denise Minger and see for yourself. Go ahead, be brave and read them with an open mind.

Denise shows without a doubt that Campbell interpreted the data in almost the opposite way that is should have been. He couldn't have possibly been more biased and he needs to be called out on this.

There is a lot of unfounded bunk in here. I don't even know where to begin, but I will start here:

"One in three Americans will die of heart disease. One in five will die of cancer. Two in three are overweight. Over 8 million people have an autoimmune disease. Over 15 million have diabetes. Over 60 million have some form of cardiovascular disease. Over 100 million have high cholesterol."

This is all very well and true, but do you know how much of that is ACTUALLY linked to eating meat? Zero. Absolutely NIL. Find me current day research that links the two (and please quote the research) and I will take a peek.

As it stands, there is no link between heart disease and meat consumption. None. There is no link between heart disease and obesity. ZERO.

You are irresponsible with your writing. Please check your facts before sharing such junk.

After reading Animal Liberation some 25 years, I have been vegetarian ever since, and vegan for long periods during that time. Once it becomes a way of life, it is easy - I suspect easier if you don't consume animals because of the associated cruelty in flesh productions.

Recently read Eating Animals (Jonathan Safran Foer) and strongly recommend it for those considering changing to a meat-free existence.

And for those still to be convinced watch Earthlings, it will change you forever. Guaranteed.
