ThinkSimpleNow.com has been live for 4 months and my deepest gratitude goes out to everyone who’s graced me with your readership and amazing support. I love you guys, seriously.

I wanted to personally thank all of you for your insights and feedback in your comments. Thank you for your kind emails. Thank you for helping me realize my dream of contributing to the personal development field.

This is a quick announcement post. Part announcement and part love letter to my readers. :)

A Journey to India

In a few hours. I will be leaving for a 3 months adventure to India. It’s my attempt to test out the concept of mini-retirements, introduced by Tim Ferriss. I view it as a spiritual and creative sabbatical, and I can’t wait.  I am a little nervous though. Perhaps, it is my ego afraid of the unknowns in the weeks to come.

If you’re interested, you can follow my travel blog here. I will do my best to document everything of interest, including hotels, routes, sights and tips. Please let me know if you have any must visit places in India, in the comments.

Elsewhere Online

Over the past week, I’ve written a personal guest post for Darren of ProBlogger, and have been featured in a couple interviews. I’ve linked them here if you’re interested.

Wow! you guys are coming to India. I’m sure it’s going to be an enlightening experience :-). The Book Passion Test gives a good account of a person’s spiritual trip to India.

I’m in Bangalore and a regular reader of your blog. Hope you guys spend some time here.

  16. 16

Welcome to India. To know more about India, I suggest you read this A wide angle view of India by Nita. Link is http://nitawriter.wordpress.com/

    Tina,
Since 1 January of this year I have been searching, floundering around in a sea of uncertainty about my blog and my goals. I researched and I read, I walked the walk and talked the talk but still I floundered until I came yesterday upon your article on Problogger and hallelujah. Thank you for helping me see that I have too much ego in there, the intentions are great but I need to take ME out.
I have found my three words: Writing, Wellness and Wisdom although that last one is dodgy as I always feel that those that think they have it, don’t. Anyway best thing I have read on blogging and particularly useful to me. Julesritter.com

  18. 18

Enjoy your trip! Be safe and have a wonderful, wonderful time! :)

Hi Tina, I recently discovered your blog through Digg, and have really been enjoying it! I’m also a blogger and found your list of tips to increase readership to be very helpful. My family is from India and I go almost every year. Please let me know if you have any questions or need any info. I’m very familiar with Mumbai and Chennai, with some knowledge of Bangalore. Happy travels! Amreen

    Dear Tina and Adam,

Wishing you the very best for your travels in India. I have picked up your feed here and will also head over to your AdamTina.com blog to keep up with where you are and how you are travelling.

Tina, I remember exchanging a couple of encouraging, positive messages with you last year over on Victory Darwin’s Ning Entrepreneur’s group.

Wow, you have certainly achieved wonderous things with your blog in the months since then!

I haven’t been completely idle myself either. I finished a big e-commerce project (my first real-time online e-commerce store for a client, at http://Banalasta.com.au) got my own http://BlogAndGrow.com blog set up in November and am in the early stages of my blogging adventure there.

It seems to me that your success is in no small part because you have truly expressed your love for people when writing in your blog, offering insights that have contributed to their lives and inspired them in various ways.

Keep doing what you’re doing Tina Su, it is a blessing for the world.

    Love and light, Namaste,

    Bradley C Hughes

  22. 22

Take care of yourself and best of luck!

Have a safe and enjoyable trip.

India has said to be heaven and hell on earth. I hope you get to experience the heaven part.

  26. 26

Hi Tina - have a wonderful time. I’m looking forward to hearing how it goes. You’re the first person I know of who’s trying a mini retirement after reading the four hour work week. And if it goes well, I bet you’ll inspire others to do the same.

  27. 27

Congrats Tina. Have a great time in India! :)

    Regards,
    Amir

  28. 28

  29. 29

Congratulations! I’m happy for you. My husband and I spent 13 months in Europe when I was in my mid-twenties. We spent our weekends and long vacations traveling around, and at the end we came back to the U.S. the long way, via Egypt, East Africa, India, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand. We still have wonderful memories of that time and are so glad we did it. Good for you!

    Passionately fulfill your purpose.

  34. 34

    Hey Tina, welcome to India!
You are coming to a beautiful country!! Hope you will enjoy a lot.
The great places in India are Keral, Goa, Rajastan and many more… I assume you have the whole trip plan now and any travel agent might have suggested the spots.

One thing to enjoy India trip: Forget about the formalities and be true Indian ;-)

  35. 35

    Have a nice journey!

  37. 37

Way to go, Tina! Have an incredible journey, and congratulations on taking the mini-retirement plunge!

  38. 38

Best of luck Tina! I look forward to tracking your adventures in India. I would love to go there someday :)

  39. 39

Thank you for sharing your philosophy and your travelling experience! I wish you a wonderful and inspiring journey!

  40. 40

Mini-retirement - I love it! I think that takes personal development to a whole new level! Have a great time.

  41. 41

    Hey Tina,
India is intense! But if you can handle India, you can do any country on earth. = )

As you progress through your holiday… the temperatures are going to get hot. Most places having no A/C makes this a problem. I guess this is just a heads up.

Make effort to follow Indian traditions. Women and men don’t touch in public and don’t mix openly. Tina, also its vice to cover up as much as you can, like Indian women.

Some parts of your journey are going to be awesome. Others are going to be giddy, frustrating and sometimes a third world experience.

I am sure being into P.D., you will come away with great and positive perspectives and experience from this trip.

    Good Luck!

  42. 42

    Hey Tina,

Have an incredible journey. Enjoy it to fullest. best of wishes..
I love india. Its wonderful conutry. People are really loing & culture is awesome.

    Good Luck

  43. 43

Tina - I liked your article on problogger. It’s thoughtful and precise. I agree with your point on goals. When folks ask me how to blog, I tell them to first figure out their purpose. I also liked your point on massive action. As Robbins would say, nature leads by example taking massive action in the form of many seeds to start a single tree.

  44. 44

I loved your article on increasing subscribers! Have a wonderful time!

  45. 45

The site is phenomenal. I check it from time to time and am surprised to hear that it has only been live for 4 months. The breadth of it led me to believe that I had been missing out on it for quite some time and I was excited to discover it.

  46. 46

Good luck in your new journey!!!

  47. 47

Much love and blessing to you as you journey on the adventure that is life. Love, lisa

  48. 48

i spotted on your blog, and i find it so helpful.

keep writing! i enjoy reading your posts.

goodluck on your trip with adam.

  49. 49

i really envy you in the sense you have achieved what many find it impossible.

Thanks for giving me your friendship and as your friend in Singapore, I will be sending you my blessings and praying for your safety.

enjoy your trip and tell us more about your adventure =)

  50. 50

    Hey Tina,

Have a great trip! I will be visiting my home land of India, accompanied by my family, this Summer, as we do every year.

Hope to read about your experiences with pictures soon.

    Thanks,
    Desika

  51. 51

Hey Tina. I am one of the bloggers who have come over from ProBlogger. You timed your blog on ProBlogger perfectly for me as just a couple days ago I put up my first blog. I am very excited and plan on following your steps to get 2000 RSS subscribers in 30 days. Perhaps I will start by telling everyone here and you, that is my goal, so if anyone gets to my site and finds it interesting, I’d love to have you!

You are true inspiration as you are living a dream I have for myself. I read Tim Farris book months ago, and LOVE it. I try to stay up to keep it in mind as the case often occurs where I will read a book (or blog for that matter) and get excited about it only to forget it once i put it down (or go to my next blog). Anyway, congrats on the first mini-retirement, all the best, and I am glad to see you taking a good 3 months and not selling yourself short. I only have one suggestion, and this comes from 4-Hour Work Week. Outsource so you do not need to ever post on here while on vacation. I know I do not want to go with out your writing for 3 months, but use guest posters and/or have posts ready and never check back. The subscribes will come on their own, and I let all my blogging friends know about you. Even if they do not find the content to their likeing the success you have is unbelieveable. Thanks again!

    Nick

Tina, I just stumbled upon your site and and have already read nearly every article. All your articles seem to be very well written, thought provoking, and inspirational. I am so glad you were able to make this website a part of your life.

I am 16 years old and already consider my self a self improvement guru (my obsession not my knowledge) I hope to one day run my own site and change people’s life’s.

I love to write and I love people, they inspire me. I have a burning desire to change the world, I truly think I can. I constantly read on self improvement and such and I have seen the tremendous benefit it has on me as a person. I have also tried to view different perspectives and that too has increased my well being tremendously.

I just moved to Shanghai this past year and have felt it to be one of the best things that could have happened to me (cliche I know.)
I hope your visit to India is as fulling as moving to China was for me.

I would like to say that I really enjoyed your article about smiling. Sometimes on weekends I will go ride my electric scooter around China and just watch the people. I smile at every one I see, and it makes me feel really good inside.

I know you are busy and such, but I would love it if you could email me perhaps and we could talk about the world.

I wish you the best of luck in your future obstacles.

    -Bud

I really love you blog ;)
